Elijah’s Barrel
Elijah’s Barrel is a program designed to meet physical needs. A week doesn’t go by without a request for our help. We don’t advertise, and yet they find us, because the need is so great. We offer free bread and basic food and other items as they are available. In 2010 we desire to expand the program through a partnership with PhilAbundance. We are only limited by transportation and storage issues.
The following are some of the ways we are distributing items weekly:
The Foundry Church:
25 Cedar Road Wallingford, PA 19086
- Tuesday 11:30 AM – Incoming deliveries of food stuff arrives at church for distribution/pick-up
- Thursday 6:00 PM – Free community meal with free bread & food items following the Bible study at 7:00 PM
- Angel Food Ministries – This is a program which allows individuals to purchase groceries at discounted prices. We have tested it out and found that it is a terrific way for people to obtain groceries without feeling as if they are getting a hand-out. Angel Food Ministries purchases enormous case lots of grocery store items from major food store chains and re-distributes them through churches and non-profits throughout the US at a fraction of the cost of store prices. This program is not up and running currently, as we lack the volunteers and a vehicle to make it happen. Can you help? Check out Angel Food Ministries @ www.angelfoodministries.com/

Volunteer:
If you would like to volunteer with our food pantry – picking up, organizing, passing out or delivering food, clothing, and other items, we would be thrilled to have your help! The need is greater than our resources or our available time. We could literally be doing this full time. The resources are out there to do so much more than we are currently able to devote time to.
Give:
There are so many needs which are not met simply because we don’t have the resources. Money gives us the ability to fill in the gaps to meet people’s needs. Sometimes it’s as simple as gas money to make a run to pick up bread. Sometimes we want to give a family a few balanced meals, but lack components for good nutrition. A financial gift of any size is a blessing which we will gratefully put to good use!
Donate:
- Food
- Clean Clothing
- Grooming/Health items
- Cleaning supplies
- Books for personal/business skills development
- Vehicles for delivery of food
- Warehouse, dry, with electric
A NOTE REGARDING DONATIONS: Jesus Himself said that whatever we do to and for people is the same as if we were doing/giving to Him. Please ask yourself if you would give this item directly into His hands. If your answer is “yes,” then we will feel privileged to make sure that your donation is used to meet the needs of the world He died to save.
