Our Youngest & Cutest Volunteer

Meet Dayana, our youngest and most loyal volunteer.

This little bundle of energy adds an element of delight that no other volunteer is capable of. This girl doesn't walk ~ she bounces, hops and skips her way everywhere! She has one dedicated job that she took on of her own initiative. She is the one who takes the shopping lists downstairs so that the volunteers there can fill the client's orders.

On top of that, she is determined to be here every week to make sure that she - and only she - gets the job done as quickly as possible. That little purple box you see in the photo is HER box. That's where she puts her lists, because she's too short to reach the countertop to make sure the lists are in order of time-in.

But that's not all she does. If a client has a child, she makes them feel welcome, telling them about books that are available, and where the candy jar is. She's been seen to play with them when things are slow, too. When it's time to leave, she makes sure every volunteer gets a hug and goodbye and a "See you next week!"
