We Need More Food than FRUIT!

The above is all we are able to get the first week of November from our government sources. FRUIT isn't exactly a balance diet!
We just heard (on Saturday afternoon 10/25/25) that the state budget passed the Senate, but needs to now go before the House to be approved. The Senate put it through with a 5 % reduction. Even if it passes the House, we are looking at the end of November before the funds go to our government provider, so they can purchase food and get the food to us at the pantry level.
We have been scrambling to find food in the meantime. Our reserve of donated funds is rapidly diminishing. We are looking for places and bargains on food to fill the holes in our inventory. Thankfully, this has come at a time when we are more likely to get donations from groups. November and December every year are when we receive the most donations. The vast majority of donated food ends up going to the food basket line upstairs where our clients choose from a variety of one-of-a-kind items. Anything that is normally on our shopping list, we store in flats for distribution by our shoppers downstairs who fill orders from the client's shopping lists.
If you would like to donate money so we can purchase food, this will take you to our donation link: https://www.lifewerks.org/getinvolved/donate
If you would like to donate food items, see the updated needs list here: https://www.lifewerks.org/ourneeds
Thank you every single one of you who have stepped forward to give in these tough times!
